So, here’s a fun conundrum for you…

No idea who the artist is for the entirety of the image above (the source of the image is this tumblr feed). The doodad on the bottom looks like a desaturated part of a drawing by Ernst Haeckel:

I love the whole image (apparently many others do as well as it’s all over Tumblr at the moment) and see no problem with the use of other artists’ work in this way (although the top section, which is the focus of the design, should be credited if the collagist didn’t take it him/herself or alter it much from how he/she found it).

I have no idea how to credit this. This is the second time I’ve come across a digital collage that uses imagery that is obviously borrowed from other artists.
